You live alone, so there is no reason your apartment should be cluttered or messy. If you stay on top of putting things away and being neat, the apartment will appear better "decorated". Get better storage pieces and/or organizers, so everything has a place. I would start there before moving onto actual decorating.

I think you are off to a good start.

- For the bedroom, hang your TV on the wall above the drawers. Do you have enough drawer space? Maybe a wider dresser would help.

- I'd get a headboard that matches the dresser. I'd prefer a darker wood or oranger wood. The grey wood doesn't do much for me. Get a bigger night table. The white Ikea side table from your living room also comes in black. That would be an good inexpensive side table. Hang a plug in sconce on the wall next to the bed.

- If you don't want to change your duvet cover, get more interesting sheets so there is some kind of pattern happening on your bed. I see a bit of rust peaking out of a basket. Maybe that is a good color to incorporate with a throw pillow.

Plug in wall sconce. These come in so many styles.

Living room

- You might have too many pillows on your sofa. (Perhaps half would look good in your bedroom.) The rust throw blanket looks good there, I don't see a need for the other one.

- Your slider curtain looks stiff and doesn't add much to the room. Are you specifically wanting blackout curtains or would you go for something that lets a little light in and doesn't feel so one dimensional?

- Art is so personal so if you love it, keep it. But, it doesn't feel very grown up to me. If you like MCM, perhaps something geometric or abstract that pics up on your rust throw would work.

- Your plants are really great. They add a lot to the space.

- Your TV is a great height and the piece under it is very nice.

Have a play with furniture positioning… your chair might work better angled next to the sofa, with an end table between. The potted palm might work better where the chair was positioned. Try and keep your colors consistent- in the lounge - you have a black lamp with black lampshade and a white end table. Try bringing the lamp with the white shade to the lounge to go white, or take the table to the bedroom to use as a nightstand, and select a dark end table that will fit all you need (thinking shelves here for the power board) and maybe the table plant for a dark look. You might like a table lamp this end of the sofa too.

I see you have a chaise, is it reversible? Another option would be to leave the chair as is, bring the chaise to this end away from the window. If it’s not reversible, what about swapping the wall the TV is on so the chaise can be this end? This would let the full width of the window to be available.

Oh, and maybe think about a faux Roman blind or pelmut to soften the bedroom, or even full drapes over the Venetian blinds.

Follow previous suggestions, also consider grouping the plants together near window after you move the chair. If you don’t have budget for headboard now a large piece of art or a large wreath in colors you like can be put over the bed. A large natural fiber basket in living room for throws. Lower the wall art over the sofa, mount TV on the wall. You can search Houzz for height recommendations.
