Living Room Layout

last year

I was gifted a Living Spaces Kennedy recliner. i would like to keep it but i cant figure out how to make it work in my living room’s current layout. I would like to replace the couch and coffee table and get rid of the blue chair and grey cabinet. How could I position the recliner to see the television?

We need the dimensions of the room and the furniture. On the floorplan note to location of the windows.

Another view taken standing at the fireplace is also needed. Is that the dining area?

Is it the recliner that you have or the recliner sofa?

Honestly? I think you’ve got this all backward. The gray chair and cabinet are the two pieces most appropriately scaled for this room. The recliner and sofa are too big. Don’t let a gift drive a misguided change in decor. Is your house chilly? Why all the throws. Edit.

Move the blue chair and grey cabinet out of the space. Put the sofa where the grey cabinet was, and then the new kennedy chair where the sofa was, with a small drink table next to it. I think these changes will be more spacious for the room. Replace sofa as needed.

I would like to see the entire space, as well. It looks like a wall was taken down at some point and you may not be using the entire space. The window...is it a bay window?

Take the TV off the FP and put it on a cabinet lower than the gray one and wider but in thta spot. Turn the sofa to face that wall . Take all the stuff you do not need out of the space of course including Christmas .The recliner is too big for the space for sure Can you put it in a bedrom or another space somewhere . We need pics of the wole space since I cannot even tell if the sofa is a sectional type or not. All that stuff behind the sofa as it is could go and that sofa moved back at least .Post more pics here in a comment DO NOT start another post but we need to see the whole room

If you must keep the gift, replace sofa with a chair similar to the gift, or a similar style loveseat. I agree with Pat, move out everything possible, new credenza under TV. Will be interesting to see other views of this space, and scaled floor layout.

Can we see the chairs switched? I thing the recliner might look better in the other corner. I agree about moving the tv and making other changes in the future, but this might be a quick and easy tweak.
