Where should I hang this antique mirror?

Greetings. I have a mirror that belonged to my great Aunt Kitty. It is 39.5" wide x 11.5" high. I am considering behind my couch in the living room or on the only wall space in my dining room. I also considered leaving it on my mantle but I'm not sure that looks good. Thoughts? Many thanks!

Above the door to the lower level. It's too small for either the DR wall or above the sofa.

It does need to be paired with something I think to give it more substance. Maybe hung vertically & next to a …. table? bench? Where did Aunt Kitty hang it?

Your mirror looks like it has 3 sections - is the middle piece beveled?

I have a mirror of roughly the same dimensions / definitely 3 pieces /more fancy framing -- it was my grandmother's. I love that mirror, and I have always had it above my fireplace.
