Lighting is all about layers not just ceiling lights , I usually use the same size fo all ceiling pots but you need table ,lamps, floor lamps night table lights kitchen need really to be lit like an operating room so I usually do kitchen lighting on sseperate switches to have choice . I do pendants above an island one switch overall ceiling pots another switch and undercabinet another I love all LED 4000K bulbs every where i my home .Probably too late but the kitchen is not well designed I see no overall lighting in the DR . I suggest you get a good lighting designer on this to do it right . Waht all the fans in 9' ceilings do you not have proper HVAC I do not like ceiling fands all over the place they often create strobing from lights that is really awful . I like bedroom windows open at night much more than a fan . But lighting is really avery specific design for each house . Furniture layout drives a lot of the choices .Waht are the purple rectangles ?

I'm thinking the purple rectangles are the switches? Unless this is something you have now and like, I don't think four recessed fixtures in every bedroom are necessary. Get fans with a light in those rooms and you will presumably have bedside table lamps. That is enough light for a bedroom. Beside table lamps are more functional in a bedroom than overhead lighting and in the smaller bedrooms, plenty of light.

Even on the first floor, if you have enough table and floor lamps you will rarely use the can lights except in the kitchen. If you have a home office I think they're a good idea there, but I don't see one on your drawing.

Yes purple are switches. I think the 4 lights look better than a light in the fan. That's the only reason I am doing that. But again. Is a beam spread of only 36 degrees enough or will have have 4 spot lights in the room?
