Sherry: What a great picture of Night Moves. It looks to be a winner in your garden.........I only have one N. It has such a great face. Good peony shaped bloom (my preference in doubles) with full center and a striking color. It is also colorfast. Not overly vigorous and short, but I still love that face:

Sherry: NIGHT MOVES is really attractive.

NEW COVENANT: The color is so rich and vivid. This photo is accurate.

NEON RAINBOW: Languished for many years in my zone 5 garden. Finally left this past fall.

NEON FLAME: A striking red/orange bloom. Slow to increase.

NEON FLAME x SOUTH SEAS seedling: One that I am considering introducing. Moved it out of the seedling bed to see how it performs with more space.

NINE INCH NAILS: This is just a spectacular plant. When multiple blooms are open, it looks like an unruley mess and I have to check it out. Not being a big spider fan and tending to like the more bagel shaped blooms, I really do like this one.

My favorites of these are No Way Jose, New Covenant, and David's Neon Flame seedling. David, all I can say about your seedling is WOW! The color is amazing.

Naughty by Nature is a nice pink.

I can't even remember where we got Nile Princess. I think it was given to us. Anyway, I like the crisp colors.

Nogales has been buried in weeds. I can't wait to see how it does now that it has been moved.

Now or Never is a southern that has done well for us.

Speaks to me as I am stuck in the house on a cold and cloudy winters day.........David: Since I love deep orange colors your seedling Neon Flame looks very interesting especially if it is colorfast/sunfast.....Nan: Nogales turns out to be a Hensley. I don't remember hearing about it before. I hope to see more of it this summer from you. He can do oranges as well as reds that stand up fairly well in our heat........Maryl

New Paradigm also did not bloom which was no loss to me! It is so pale.Kay’s blooms are much darker and prettier.

I see that Nogales has a registered height of 36 inches, and No Way Jose is registered at 35. Some Hensleys here are far short of registered height. I wonder if your North Wind seedlings, Brad, have sturdy scapes.

I agree that Nosferatu is a nice flower. It did well last summer, and I find the color a shade not often found.

Navajo Warrior takes a good picture, but it is only 5 inches.

I have better pics of Native Reflection; it is quite reliable. (Hensley)

No Boys Allowed is showy, but bud count doesn't wow.

Nelson Mandela is no more than 5 inches, but a pretty one.

Natalie Antoinette has been quite reliable here.

Neon Flamingo

Night Wings is a saturated near black. A bit sprawling in habit. This captures the color well.

I have had the same issues here with the few Hensleys I have had. They have not been that prolific.

Mantis, Nosferatu is indeed quite a beauty. Native Reflection and Neon Flamingo are also beautiful.

I see several N's here that I used to grow. Nile Princess was a decent performer for me, but the seedlings I got out of it were all surprisingly ugly. I loved North Wind Dancer despite its leaning scapes, but it didn't make the final cut. I chose not to bring dips or lates with me. No Boys Allowed never had a bud count higher than 9 and was a reluctant pod setter, so it got left behind. The photos of it posted here show how striking the blooms are. It always multiplied well and was quite photogenic - especially in a clump.

Kate - I'm surprised Neon Flamingo hasn't multiplied well for you. It was a good multiplier for me - except in drought years. I sold several divisions and gave some fans away over the years. Navajo Pony is one I'm always drawn to, but it never did much for me.

Mantis - Navajo Warrior and Nelson Mandela are both beauties - even if they are only 5 inchers. Natalie Antoinette looks good! I would like to have that one again, especially if it grows well in a northern climate.

Nan - I love Now or Never! Good to know a DeVito does well for you. I'm hoping So Irresistible will thrive here.

Brad - Lovely photo of NWD! Your seedlings from it look great. I especially like the one with Carmen Renee as the other parent. Is that one a late bloomer?

Here's my photo of Nile Princess from last year. It's now growing in three friends' gardens.

North Wind Dancer often had high bud counts for me and, grown in full sun, only leaned after storms. I did love those twirly, curly petals. I may replace it at some point.

Natalie A is consistent here, but a fairly modest bud count, like many Stamiles of that era. Debra, I think you will find in your area that an average bud count of 9 is quite satisfying. (Haven't counted those on Natalie; just know that it blooms consistently here. I don't get 9 on NBA. )

Debra: some things may actually be hardier for you, given, I assume, more snow cover. But I suspect that your blooming season will be a week behind here. Nan's is about the same as here. What a challenge to move all those plants to another location! And the same with David. But you both are young yet.

David: I see that Natural High is another Georges, a favorite hybridizer, you said, of Brent.

Brad: I prefer the scape height of parent Carmen Renee, which is also quite floriferous.

Mantis - I will find it hard to ever be satisfied with an average bud count of 9. NBA most often had 8 as its bud count for me - 9 was its best.

Moving plants was hard. Forty percent of what I brought was evergreen. It will be interesting to see what survives.

Debra, all the NWD crosses are late. I really have a great assortment of late daylilies with these as well as ones crossed with the VTs.
