What should I do with this space?

This half wall hides my staircase to downstairs. It’s what you walk into after coming through my foyer, and it across from it is the open living room. The dining room is to the left.

What furniture should I put against the 116”half wall? I’m leaning toward a console table, or a console table with seating underneath (I don’t have a lot of seating in my dining room). I’d also be open to a bench or other suggestions, but unfortunately there’s not enough room for chairs here.

Also open to suggestions on what to do with the wall behind it- should I leave it blank or add some sort of wall art?

I think a console table with a small bench underneath. That way you can pull the bench out when needed. Style the top of the console table with a plant. You can keep the snake plant beside the console table.

If room suits, wood slats are easy to install, add two large pieces of art on the staircase wall that complement, and place your plant in a ceramic pot on a stand.

An attractive, fairly long console table or credenza. If you have a few pretty good sized decor items and maybe a lamp to set on it, you won’t need anything on the back wall.

Why limit the ideas for snake plant that will actually grow almost anywhere . Fo me I would open the wall up and make sure the staicase is lovely You could still have a bench but not a bunch of stuff not needed .
