Floor Me :) oh please in Colorado

last month

Redoing our ranch kitchen. Here is a picture to date of the new yippie white cabinets and countertops. Going to change lights and add handles rubbed silver .

Do you have any suggestions for new flooring color-dark gray, dark brown and backsplash? Is white grout a problem? Or thoughts? Please floor me with your thoughts. If you could see my face with all the comments that help us. ❤️❤️
So appreciate thoughts on this big investment.

Hardwood ......or vinyl plank flooring about the shade of window frames ..maybe a tad darker. Nice large window...good to coordinate with the existing trim there. Backsplash is a personal choice.....bring home tile samples...

I'd stay within a lighter range of shades for floor. You can find a grain pattern or texture for interest. You've had that dark floor so Id pick lighter for sure.

I'd go with a medium toned brown floor. It isn't trendy and won't go out of style. Your current floor has a lot of variation of tones in it. I'd go for a floor that is more uniformly and evenly colored.

Grout color depends on the tile, color, and pattern. White can be a good option for the correct situation.

What kind of floor is in adjoining rooms? I personally detest LVP - icky plastic look, feel and smell, plus environmental concerns, so I would suggest wood, tile, linoleum, or cork.i like color so the backsplash looks like a great place to jazz it up

I'd totally recommend going with a lighter floor color—it really pops with white cabinets and makes the space feel so much brighter. Here’s a pic of our kitchen .

Well. You jumped a gun when you got the carpet? You have several threads. It

is the same kitchen. We've asked "what is around the kitchen , what flooring?"

So you missed an opportunity to unify these two spaces, and update your home at the same time?

What is the flooring in the dining room, please.

Can we see the spaces around the kitchen in pictures?

You will say "that is not what I asked." But you are asking other designers , some Pro and some not what you should do?

If any of us were there? We'd see allllll your spaces. So? Show us, Please?

You said on your other thread......

"Love any ideas, to help me avoid costly mistakes." (edit...or things that aren't a great value")

Perhaps should have asked on the carpet?

The more of a SINGLE floor in a home, the larger and smoother that home will appear.: )

Im not a designer, but I’d look at white subway stacked backsplash, and wide plank white oak floors. Then find a pretty chandelier, maybe even with some fake diamonds/crystal pieces. Make sure the oak floors look okay against the carpet.

If you go with tile, avoid white grout. I have white grout and two rambunctius large dogs. It’s maipai grout and cleans so easy, but I’m always cleaning it! If you have to use grout, look for the maipai one. Also, make sure that any wood flooring won’t scratch from your cute pup’s claws. My friends have wood floors and told me they are completely destroyed by their dogs’ claws.
