My room needs your helppp!! :(

Hello! I'm currently refurnishing my room and planning to tear down a built-in purple wardrobe (1st pic) I've been using for 10+ years. I'm struggling to find a wardrobe that fits into the nordic/ scandinavian cozy vibes that I want for my bedroom.

I'm currently looking at customisable wardrobes from Ikea but I'm worried that there may be too much wood in the room and it may look overwhelming since my bedframe is also wood (refer to picture 2 & 3) and I'm potentially getting a drawer that is a mix of wood and white (pic 4 & 5). I'll show a picture of my current room so please do advice what kind of wardrobe I should get. Thank you so so much!

(This is my current bedroom which I'm planning to change the bedframe, remove the corner brown table and replace it with Ikea's Kallax). The idea of the room would be as below:

Please feel free to give me any advices on the layout of the room as well, I'm extremely open to it, thank you so much in advance! :,)

Does the current wardrobe function well? meaning could you change the exterior and be happy with it or does it need to be replaced?

even an IKEA pick can be painted to work. Just prime first.

for a Scandi look, I would paint it the same color as walls.

not loving the green behind the headboard.

Love the new furniture.

Paint the whole room the same color as the drawer fronts, then the wood tone will be the feature.

If the current wardrobe functions well, it would make sense to update it (as suggested above) vs. spending money to replace it with a new one.

If you use IKEA Pax, you can make it look built-in + paint it any color that you want. Plus, people have added trim/moulding to the doors to customize them. I've seen many finished projects that I would never have guessed were made using IKEA Pax (or other IKEA products). I've also seen ones where wood stained doors/drawer fronts have been added.

I agree with the others that the wardrobe can be painted and maybe put some fake wood peel and stick wall paper on the front middle door part. I think a dresser (similar to what you showed) would be better than the Kalax. It would be a better height for the window and you can put some plants ontop. The sheepskin rug would be better beside your bed instead of at the end,

hello! thank you so so much for responding! yes it does function well but the white parts inside have start to turn a little yellow and the sides of the wardrobe is a little chipped, so I thought it would be great/better to just switch the entire wardrobe :( of course it would be great if i dont have to do that but looking at the situation of my current wardrobe, I'm thinking if switching out the entire thing is my best bet.

@Kendrah, I think thats doable but just wondering if theres any way to fix the chipped parts :( and to make the insides less yellow-ish?

@dani_m08 thank you so much! yes! i was actually thinking of switching to Ikea Pax bcs I'm not using Ikea Pax right now. the pics you showed are defo matching with the vibe I'm going for! :D

Yes, I think a dresser with drawers would look nicer than the Kallax with baskets. Just more sleek.
