Houseplant Id no pic

I have a houseplant that I bought maybe 6 months ago. It had no tag with it's species and plant name on it. I don't know how to post pics online, so, I can only describe it, and maybe somebody here will recognize the description.

It's a solid green, so not patterns with other colors or shades of green. Mine is a green that isn't too light or too dark. And, the leaves are small, have teeth on them.

I hope that somebody can help, I know, having no picture will make it hard to do though.

I have never seen that plant again in any of the places that sell houseplants. Then again, here, we don't have many places to look. And, online, I've never seen it featured in all of the Youtube videos.

I was going to get my brother to help me, but, no need now. The plant above "China doll" seems to be what I have. It looks exactly like my plant. Thanks nicolsworth!

I just hate it when you buy a plant and it has no ID tag on it. I'm glad I found out what it is. Thanks everyone else for trying to help too.

I just wanted to ad that it';s not a succulent, and it has a sharply pointed tip on the leaves.

Are you posting from a computer or from a phone? Do you have no way of taking pictures? If you can take pix we can help you post them. If not, at least tell us the shape and size of the leaves and whether they are arranged alternately or opposite.

I'm posting from a computer. I can take pics on my phone, but I can't post a pic from my phone to the computer.

The leaves are arranged with a set of leaves on 1 side of the stem and another exactly even with it on the other side. The leaves remind me of Birch tree leaves in shape.

The way my phone is set up, I can't really do much other than call, text and look online. But, I can't really do anything like shopping (paying for things) and all that. I can look, but not really do much in a way where much goes from my phone to another website. I hope I'm explaining it right. It had been my brothers phone, and he made it so that it sorta has protections on it.

So that it's not likely to get hacked into or something like that.

The leaves are only about 1 inch max.

If you email a picture from your phone to yourself it can be saved on your computer. Then you can post a picture here.

The leaves sound as if they might be oppositely pinnate compound. Could you look that term up and see if it applies to your plant?

I take lots of pictures with my phone..plants and people..I use my phone to comment and post pictures here..
do you have a friend or relative that could help you with your phone?..

**just so you know**..this site has technical difficulties..I've seen lots of complaints about posting pics here..

I looked but it's tough without a pic..a guess..

I believe poaky is accessing this site from a PC, not via a phone. Hence my suggestion to email a pic from the phone to the computer as a simple work around.

They make good houseplants are more cold hardy than you think.

Yeah, I like mine. It much thirstier than most of my other houseplants though, I have to remember to water it before my other ones are ready to be watered.

Just out of curiosity, how hardy do you think they are? My house stays around 72 F all of the time, so I don't worry about any houseplants being too cold. I think most houseplants tags say to keep above 52F or around that temp.

I would bet they can handle occasional drops to 30 F or upper 20's, as always, SIZE matters, so the bigger the more chill tolerant, and YES, they have poor drought tolerance!

That's a zone 9 or 10 I think. But, I won't be testing mine. The plant is still likely to be tender even if it's bigger. Just maybe not as tender. The branch ends will still be small and tender, right?

Maybe the trunk, or main stem will send out new shoots, but the plant would be disfigured until it is all grown back and able to get growing again.

Unless you've actually had one go through it, you can't really know how that would all go.
