Dining Room Starting from scratch

Looking for advice on how to set up & style dining room. Recently renovated kitchen and knocked down the wall to the dining room. Everything in this room will be moved out. (We also just had a baby, which will require a playpen of some sort in this room down the line. Became a catch all when nursery was redone.) would like to keep the big mirror in here and that’s it. We have high ceilings and it is a very open space. Our house is very small though. Even color scheme advice would be appreciated. Our house is all natural colors and lots of natural light

    What are the measurements of the room? A floor plan with measurements for the room, doorways and windows would be helpful.

    How many people do you need the table to seat? A round table expanding to a larger oval may work so there are no sharp edges with a young child.

    Be sure to safely mount the large mirror on the wall. Recent online news reported a toddler was killed by a large leaning mirror when the child pulled on the mirror trying to stand.
