Why does tv have to stay above the fireplace?

Already mouted there with hole in tile for wiring. this was done by previous owner so no extra tile to cover hole. Thanks!

Cover the hole with apiece of art . The sketch is not to scale since one square should equal 12" yours does not . A to scale plan is a must so do that first .

May we have pictures of the room from all angles? How many people use the room daily and how many guests do you want to accomodate?

A lot more info for sure and honestly is this whole space LR then I would treat this with 2 seating areas one for TV one for a nice area for cnverstaion and that area would be the FP area no TV there . Sliders to no where are just plain weird so a bit of info as to is this your home or a rental ? Sliders IMO always need to go somewhere or they should just be windows . Whicj one is which in the drawing Where do the doorways lead ? Where is you entry into the home ?

Just me for using daily. Always less than 6 friends or family when over so 7 is max but doesn't have to accommodate all as i have a living space in the basement as well. Yes whole space is LR, its a townhome/condo so the hallways lead from the kitchen ok the left and front door/stairs up and down on the right. Slider to nowhere was replaced so no switching that to a window as plans were not approved by hoa to do so. Right slider is to nowhere, left has a balcony. I can extend the balcony to the right slider but I have a walkout basement and a big balcony upstairs off primary in the back so I don’t need more balcony/outdoor space.

Below are pictures, tried to capture the whole space so top 2 are on 0.5 zoom. The last is how I’ve always had it set up with the sectional blocking the slider bottom 1/3, but I’m liking having that open to allow more light since this room is facing north east. Thanks for all the help and feedback!

Here’s what I’ve mocked up with ikea app and one from AI that moved the tv. The pieces aren’t what I’d use but gives an idea to fill space. I like the top one best so the set of chairs aren’t right by each other but not sure if that’s too much. I don’t want it to feel like i crammed too much into the space.

Use the AI suggestion for layouts. It's the one that makes the most sense.

Just because there is a hole in the tile doesn't mean you can't select something to be placed over it to conceal it.
