We are redoing the shower, removing the bath and putting tile for a shower only. Its a small bathroom
Hubby wants to close the window, I feel it will be to dark and closed in.
Thoughts?

I would use an awning type window and raise it up higher so it is not directly in the path of water. Make sure it is a vinyl window and is waterproofed properly.

Compromise. Replace the window with a shorter, actually waterproofed one. It can serve as a shelf for stuff too. Integrating a window into the wall waterproofing is essential though. Windows are not meant to be waterproof from the interior.
