window or No window

We are redoing the shower, removing the bath and putting tile for a shower only. Its a small bathroom
Hubby wants to close the window, I feel it will be to dark and closed in.
Thoughts?

I would use an awning type window and raise it up higher so it is not directly in the path of water. Make sure it is a vinyl window and is waterproofed properly.

Compromise. Replace the window with a shorter, actually waterproofed one. It can serve as a shelf for stuff too. Integrating a window into the wall waterproofing is essential though. Windows are not meant to be waterproof from the interior. And you will rot out your wall if you don't take that seriously, and vet your tile pro very seriously. https://www.ceramictilefoundation.org/homeowners-guide-to-hiring-qualified-tile-installer
