kitchen cabinets

last year

I have beautiful oak kitchen cabinets. We are updating our house and I would like to add gray or greenish cabinets. Maybe even black in the mix. I just don’t know how to incorporate it. We are adding an island.

Ignore Patricia's poor use of shouting about starting another post. She doesn't seem to know what she's doing. And doesn't understand how to treat first time poster looking for help. No one here understands it. If she were doing this to a new potential client, she'd be out of business.

The best way for us to help, is for you to post pics of the kitchen as it is now.

When you say, ”I would like to add gray or greenish cabinets. Maybe even black in the mix.”, do you mean you want to paint the cabs you have, or add additinal cabs in the colors mentioned?

by adding the island, that would be a great place to add you color.

if you have a stand alone cabinet, light a hutch, you could also do that in a color of your choice.

Ok. Thx for your input. We are away from home so I can’t get a picture. I was just hoping someone would have a fabulous idea to keep most of the oak, which are a light color; while trying to update away from looking like a grandma’s house. I’ve seen oak on bottom and people doing white for top cabinets. But I really love the grays or green. I’ll try to add pictures that I have found with colors I like. Thx again.

Definitely post some photos. Based on the color of your oak, different greens will look better. Sounds like a good idea.

You are suggesting the two tone kitchen that is on it's way out. You may not want 'grandma' but do you want to spend money on a design idea that essentially failed? It did not hold up over time. Pictures would help a ton. Perhaps there are other changes that would be suggested and save you a tone of wasted money.

Soory the green to me would be more gramma that all one color.

Am generally not a fan of mixed color/stains on cabinetry unless the design is in a quirky English/cottage kitchen.

The two tone cabinetry is just not lasting and is not popular with new buyers. We have no pictures of your kitchen so it's tough to suggest a color here or there...an island or eating area that is not cupboards is about the only place I would put a different color/finish.

These set of 15 different spammers for Highland Cabinets have to go away. Terrible crapola cabinets with horrible business ethics. And that is what you need to write right before you ⛳️ the post. They should be penalized for the s p a m.
