I live in zone 6b RI and even though it is still cold trying to get a head srart on weeds and crabgrass this year. I live in an area where there a lot of oak trees so I am sure my lawn is on the acidic. I use Milorganite religiously first application usually in May. I have used per emergents in the past not sure if one is better than another or if anyone has a suggestion it would be appreciated. Last few years I have been using instead of pre emergent I have been using Weed be gon chickweed clover and oxalis killer. Not sure what is the better approach to be as weed free as I can. If I do go with a pre emergent I know in less than a months time pre emergent should be put down.
