The good news is that you have a wide-open space -- a lovely canvas.

Are you looking for seasonal /holiday decor or an all-the-time look?

For starters, the black bench looks rather cramped in its position. How would it be to pull it out /turn it 90 degrees so it sort of "defines" that side of the porch? Then I'd consider another seating item -- maybe a small table and two chairs? -- opposite on the right. I'd like to see the new seating arrangement echo the black in the original bench.

I don't see house numbers. That's a must. And you have two huge blank spaces flanking the doors -- you need something in those areas.

I think you have a lovely door with cut glass, but it sort of "disappears" back into that alcove and just looks like a black blob. If you were to add a recessed light above the door, it could become a feature.

And flowers, of course. I'd think large planters pulled out to the front, where they'll get sun.

Here are some ideas. If you don't want cliche, what about hanging chairs? You could add color with pillows on the chairs. Large planters on either side of the door, and you could add groupings of planters further down on the steps. I agree that your door looks a little dark. It looks like it's recessed; is there space to add a sconce on one or both sides?

A big rug, of course. With the bench on one side and two chairs on the other, perpendicular to the door.
