Need ides for front door stoop

Hi! Need some help with our front stoop. The area originally was a stamped concrete but over years and lots of sun it is time for an update.
You can see a small spot where we tried a type of spray paint for concrete but want sure if it was the right color( it’s usually covered with a door mat so you can’t see it)
So my question is do we try and match the stoop to the red brick color? Maybe match it to the front door (gray)

Looks like the original (and best) stain color was a dark gray to match the gray in the brick. I would restore the original color.

We never saw it any color other than the red. When you say gray like concrete gray?

is the rest of the area in great shape? you are just interested in the flat surface?

if a rug doesn't cover it all, what shows around the rug?

I would assume it may have been all concrete color like the grout in the brick. However, I actually like the red, and would clean it good, and sand it, and restain or paint it. The door looks very much like it needs a good sanding and redoing too.

lol! Yep we are in the process of replacing the door.
We have cleaned it really well.

I would test with a dark gray/charcoal stain perhaps, it would make it look more like stone.

I think you need to consider your new door when making this decision. Will it be stained wood or painted? What color stain or paint?

A good rule thumb for the porch is: if you want to emphasize it, use a paint or stain which contrasts with the surrounding brick; to de-emphasize, choose a paint/stain which closely matches that brick. You may want your new door to be the star, and the porch to be a supporting player.

Since your new door is fairly decorative, I would let that be the star. Find a paint color that is similar to the porch brick color and quiet the porch. You will likely be adding a nice door mat, so the texture of the brick and the stamped concrete in the same shade is enough going on.
