Working on wood choice for window seat

im stuck!
im very pleased with window cushions but i need design help to finish this window seat/ reading nook
Original window-seat was formed in four sides We have added the full base for larger seat but are keeping bottom open for grandkids fort for now
do i trim the window-seat base
1. in medium oak? or keep current pine panels and do it in pine?
2. in the same trim as the other oak furniture in photo- mission style? even if the recommendation is to do it all in pine?
all opinions appreciated!!

PROlast yearYour nook should have at least a few 22 or 24 inch pillows. All those small pillows look like clutter and don't look the least bit comfortable.
