You are right! The sofas appear smaller on the floorplan. I just measured and taped everything off. Currently we have specked two 7’ sofas, each 38” deep. There is approximately 7-8” between the arms of the two sofas and then 8-9” between the sofa and the swivel. I’m showing pictures for reference here.
I could drop that side sofa down to 6’ length or could change the depth to Petite so it would be 34” deep rather than 38” deep. Either option would give more clearance between furniture.
Do I need to keep the depths the same on the sofas? How much space is ideal?

I think she got the measurements wrong since there are walkways on both sides of the f/p and not totally a clear start/finish to the room.

Also the room is 16’2” long to the f/p and then 15’3” wide to the walkway/transition into the “waiting room”. I specked a 12x15’ rug. Is that ok size wise? My original designer had a 14x14 but I don’t want to go custom.

I like the matching sofas and so much better than a sectional keep them the same size but I would do round end tables and not even in the same material as the coffee table Nice big lamps and to see the size cut out some circles in paper and see wht fills the space best

You don't have to buy everything from the same store. Get your sofas ordered and delivered, and then work on the tables.

Have you sat on the sofas? I would be weary of a 34" deep sofa that I had not tested myself. The last thing you want is a living room sofa that feels like a shallow, upright sofa in a medical office waiting room!

Yes, I definitely would not have matching coffee/end tables. Matchy matchy ship has sailed. Agree with chispa, this does not have to be a one-stop shop. That and the fact that the measurements are wrong-maybe look around a bit more.

Yes, thank you all! I agree on the not matchy matchy. I've asked her several times to not have it all match, but obviously she has a style. Planning to get the sofas, rug, chandelier.

I do really like the black coffee table too. It's black oak. Any suggestions for side tables?

My husband is much more modern than I am, I'm more traditional, so hoping to keep it more modern especially since I am creating my little mahjong space nearby - ha!

@chispa - we have sat in the sofas, and we owned one before but had to toss it after we had a pipe burst. The bench seat is a bear to fix but hopefully now that my kids are in school and also this isn't the main sitting/tv area, I wont have to battle it quite so much. Also my post must have been misleading but its their 38" classic depth that we are getting.

I like this for the large round side table. It’s 25” tall x 28” wide. Planning to use this large lamp which is tall too but my floor lamp on the other side is 66” tall (it’s old but linked this similar one). I need a table on that side that can go in front of the floor lamp and coordinate with this larger side table.

Thoughts/ suggestions for coordinating? Should it also be black? Or white? Material?

I’m hoping to do a white marble martini type table on the other side of the other sofa.
