I'm thinking of the brushstrokes showing so I would try peel and stick vinyl tile before I would try painting Formica. I hear the vinyl is tough enough to use on floors so a vanity top should be fine. At least you could peel it off if you wanted to change it out.

The wood looks fine. I'd price out a new top. If you cannot afford that, paint it cream. Remove the floor rugs. Do you need that TP caddy in there or could you fit it under the sink?

I would embrace the pink vanity top and paint the wood bottom the same color. I would also paint the tile on the walls and floor a complimentary color. Maybe add wallpaper above the tile.

I'd paint the vanity base white, leave the countertop and sink as is.

Do you NEED vanity storage? the only thing in it, likely is a waste basket.

if not, replace the whole thing with a pedestal sink.

add an interesting canvas art to highlight the color in the tile, so it looks intentional.

Mount a wall cabinet for storage, if necessary, a waste basket next to the toilet.

I think you should paint the counter top a cream color and add a wall mounted cabinet matching the countertop and add rugs that match instead of the red one.

Paint the vanity the same color as the tiles. Leave the pink top and echo it in an art work like this affordable Klimt art print from Society6.com.

Take out the caddy and purple rug by the toilet. Store toilet paper rolls under the vanity cabinet. If you have to store hand towels, add a few shelves over the toilet and put your other art work there.

There are many self stick tiles that could be used in your bathroom in order to update the tile:

Chris Loves Julia has created a line of Floor Pop tiles - they would work perfectly over your current floors.

You could keep the countertop the color it is (and maybe just paint the cabinet white) + add tiles for vanity wall that would coordinate with the pink counter:

The tiles below are stick ones that appear to be made to look similar to the very popular Bedrosian Cloe tiles (comes in different colors with the varying shades like Cloe tile):

They are on Amazon - you will find them easily if you just look for peel and stick tiles (they aren't individual small tiles - they are sheets with several tiles = easier to install). There were quire a few reviews commenting on how everyone thinks that they are real tiles instead of faux ones.

Here they used the tiles with a pink painted cabinet and white countertop - they also added tiles to the floor:

If you'd like to get away from the pink, you could paint the countertop white OR use a feather finish product to make it look like a cement countertop (they have regular gray cement or a white cement - make sure you use a sealer to protect the countertop from stains). Then you could add a different color behind the vanity + around the bathroom to cover the current tile on the walls. This is similar to Cloe Green tile - it has been very popular in bathrooms:

There are floor pop tiles that look like the black and white tile below (I immediately noticed where they messed up the pattern on the floor by the edge of the vanity).

I have a shower surround that is done with Cloe White tiles + I think I'm going to use a light (grown up) pink paint for the board and batten on the walls with white paint above it -made me think that you could use this to cover up the tile on your walls + leave your pink countertop if you wanted + use a barely there pink for the upper half of your walls:

If you dislike the patterned tile pieces mixed in on the wall, you could just cover those with a pretty accent tile that ties into whatever color you decided to paint your vanity cabinet - Etsy has many sellers that will custom size a "tile" that you like so it will fit perfectly over your current accent tiles - leaving the grout lines showing = makes it look more like real tile.

You can look for remnants of white quartz in your area which for such a small piece wouldn,t be very expensive or simply paint the laminate top a warm white. I would also paint the walls a warm white and the cabinet in a beige that coordinates with the tiles. Complete your decor with a nice wood moulding painted white above the tiles, a new mirror and vanity light, white towels.

If keeping your existing mirror, you can install a frame around the mirror.

A brass faucet and knobs on the cabinet would be a nice touch as well as framing your mirror as shown above.

I actually like the pink top and that color is back in style...

I'd paint the wood an off white (coordinating with the tile so not bright white) and perhaps a new toilet seat and lid, it looks discolored?

reorganize so the extra TP and Lysol can go inside the cabinet :)
