Missing in Action

As you all know, the old (supposedly) Chinese Curse wishes you an interesting life and mine has been that for a while which explains my absence.

It is nothing major, just continuing annoying problems with the meds the oncologist has given me one of which made my existing liver issue worse, which was scary.

We are also in the midst of some much needed building and redoing of...tearing down and building new deck, front porch, totally redoing the bathroom, moving washer and dryer...new shutters,a half bath and on and on.

Many thanks to Julia for checking on me, and, of course, Kate and I are in regular touch. I am sorry I have be3en such a MIA, but I will be back when things calm a bit. The bad weather last weekend was a little close but it often is. I look forward to life returning to what passes for normal here.

So sorry to hear about your medical troubles. Going through remodling can add stress when not needed. I'll be sending a prayer your way.......... Do you think you will have the porch and other house improvements done before your daylilies start blooming?.........Maryl

Thank you, Maryl. The is woodworking part of the porch is done, but the staining and painting have still got to be done, and since the porch was extended several feet on each side, I don't think the additional roofing will not be done by then. The Deck is about 95% completed to the application of stain But, the covered section will be screened and some more work will be done on the supports for the covered section so it will be nice to take breaks there.

WE wont add the shutters until the staining is completed, and the bathroom work will also be done after the outside is completed. It is really looking good, and I know that I will enjoy it but my spouse may or may not be out on the deck that much, we will see.

The daylilies are up nicely and growing very well but I don't expect scapes to begin until at least mid April, but I will be checking along to see. I added a few perennials last year and they are looking good, and the pansies are beautiful.

Happy to see an update, Kay! It sounds like you've had a lot going on. I hope the meds you're on now don't cause any more problems. I've been having work done on my house too, and any time you're dealing with contractors life is stressful.
