I love all Ficus.

Hi Dave! There’s still a few of us around! Your trees looks great! Quite often, a ficus ends up looking like a pole with sticks with pile of dead leaves underneath.

I got pretty good at giving Ficus what they want, but the last tree just completely outgrew the space and i didnt want to cut it back as hard as i would have needed.

I suppose ill keep this new one until it no longer fits as well.

the last one grew huge in about 5 years. heres a photo of it in 2015 and in 2020, and keep in mind i kept cutting the top back yearly or it would have been even taller.

Some years ago, I decided to get rid of several of my eldest and largest plants. I was willing to give them away but a fellow horticulturist told me I was nuts 😜. They were quite valuable in others’ eyes.

One was an old hoya, don’t remember what cultivar anymore, that used to bloom heavily for much of the year. The plant became so huge and had so many flowers that the smell was way too much to tolerate. I was so happy to have my living room room back!
