I need to install 2 railings outdoors. (1) Steps leading from the house to the yard - only 1 side of the steps (2) Steps going from an upper yard to the lower yard/pool area. Our home was built in the mid 50's. Mid-century, but not necessarily mid-century modern.

I have someone who can fabricate anything, but I'm stuck on what to install. Ideally I won't spend a fortune, but I want it to look nice and to be weather resistent (no rust). We primarily have natural tones in the hardscaping and lighting fixtures using oil rubbed bronze finishing. Ideally no silver/grey toned metal. This area gets blasted by the sun in the afternoon, so I need a metal that will not be too hot to the touch (powder coated aluminum?).

For the steps leading from the house to the yard, I have a rose immediately next to the steps. Ideally the railing will be structured to hold back the stems as they start growing into the steps space. I'm a rose society President and will not be moving that rose. :-)

The railing posts for the large travertine steps cannot be attached to the wall given the electric wiring throughout, and I don't know the placement of those wires (hindsight: should have taken a photo during install or documented a layout).

I welcome any suggestions. I've spent a few hours online and I am overwhelmed by the choices. Thank you in advance!
