Caesarstone Countertops through IKEA = BAD

I had Caesarstone countertops installed, and the seam between the two slabs is uneven, with about a 1/16-inch height difference that's very noticeable both visually and by touch. The cabinets are perfectly level, but the slabs themselves are slightly warped, as confirmed with a straight edge. Because of this warping, there's no way to adjust the slabs to even out the seam. Caesarstone claims these slight variations are within acceptable limits, so they denied my warranty claim. As for IKEA, they were no help at all—typical IKEA. Consider this a warning: steer clear of Caesarstone and IKEA.

The clamps used to install estone, Gorilla Grips, are capable of pulling the warp out of slabs. That seam is unacceptable.

It's a 3cm countertop. The installers said it is too thick to straighten. They had a seam setter device with suction cups to help glue the slubs. The suction cups would just come off if they pushed too hard.

I've purchased Ceasarstone from Ikea multiple times in two geographic areas, and both times Ikea just outsourced to local contractors. It's going to be no different than getting a kitchen through Home Depot; that is, some luck of the draw. Which is pretty much the same risk you take any time you hire a one-time contractor for work on your house. We didn't have any issues with our countertops either time. I did have issues with our marble contractor, though, and he was hired directly by my GC. It's all a gamble.
