More pictures of the entire space are necessary for good help. Are talking about the chairs at the island or the one we can only see the arm?

Here is how to post a Design Dilemma to get the best results. You need to show the whole space—all four sides of an entire space—even if it’s about one specific Dilemma. Commenters need to see doorways, windows, closets, finishes throughtout the space to make informed suggestions.

State right at the beginning what the room will be used for and who will use it. State the non-negotiables at the beginning, what has to be kept. Give some idea of the budget. And provide approximate measurements

Keep in mind that you're inviting some design pros and people with a design eye into your home via photos. If they walked into your actual space, they would take in all of it: all four sides, doorways, floors, windows, ceiling, built-in fixtures, lighting, trim--the "givens"--then the features that can be changed--furnishings, paint, art, rugs, decor items, etc. It's all one first impression. Same thing with photos. That's why it's important to provide well lit photos of the entire space, taken from all sides of a room regardless of the size of your problem.

Will you be adding an area rug? for color?

By adding an antiques or distressed wood finish for texture to a new space.

Do you own or rent? If you own, then you can warm up the space with a warmer off-white wall color.

I'd leave the wall closest to the door empty, except for possibly some art. I like your idea of a small console table with a lamp on that other wall. Large baskets could hold shoes.

Do you have more pictures of the space? What else do you need to decorate? Do you have any inspiration images? A large rug would add warmth and texture too.

More pics would help. But, for your entry I’d avoid a shoe cabinet if there’s any way to stash shoes in the closet at entry. The sight of shoes = clutter at entry & your entry is in view from your entire living area it seems. For warmth & texture add color! That wall behind the island table is such a focal point. I see a huge wrapped canvas hanging on that wall - something that makes you smile & has lots of depth like you can walk into it. A narrow console table or a cabinet under the art. It could be a color other than wood tone. In living area where the arm of chair is seen - a good size for space area rug with lots of color & texture in it.

We need to see much more of the spaces there is no way to do this one corner at a time
