Chispa. Here is a close up of the seams. They don’t seem chipped or anything. It’s more like the edges got darker when they were put together.

Kendra and Patricia thank you for the reassurance. I lost my kitchen planner/work supervisor a few weeks into the project and have been trying to deal with things myself. It’s pretty overwhelming and im sure the things that are going wrong are not as big of a deal as they seem to me. The countertop fabricator didn’t closely follow the specs for the cooktop and when they came to install the cooktop it wouldn’t fit. Luckily the cutout wasn’t big enough so they only(?!) need to cut the opening about an inch deeper and add two notches to the front. They say it’s no problem and they do it all the time. The new window that was supposed to be installed yesterday was damaged when they uncrated it so that’s another unexpected delay. So trust me. Your comments mean a lot.

Thank you all for the reassurance. It’s one thing I can strike off my worry list. They also came today to fix the range top/countertop problem. Hopefully the installation guys will be back soon to finish it. I’m attaching a picture. I know I was oversold by my designer on the size but it looks dramatic so it’s OK.

Thank you all for the reassurance. It means a lot to be able to strike that off my worry list. The countertop guys came to fix the problem of the measurements for the range top not being correct. So it fits well in the space now. Hopefully the installers for that and the hood will be back soon to complete that part. I’ve attached a photo if you are interested. I realized too late my kitchen planner upsold me on the size of the range top but it looks nice anyway. I’ll just have to cook a lot of elaborate dinners.

The lighter engineered stones are some of the most difficult to seam inconspicuously. Those aren't bad.

Is there a vent hood yet to be installed?

John Liu: yes. They wanted to get the cook top in place so they can make sure it’s perfectly placed over it. The wiring and HVAC is already in place and up in the ceiling for the installation. The cook top is just sitting in place right now as the counter top guys wanted to make sure it fit OK. The gas and electrical power will have to be connected to it. The electrical outlet and gas line with cut off are already in place waiting to be connected. The Appliance store installation crew will do all of this.

Sorry you've had to juggle everything yourself. Hope it all turns out as well as the counters.

I think your designer should come cook dinner for you on the big range. They clearly wish they had one too!

Thank you Kendrah. Maybe my New Years Resolution (haven’t made one yet) should be to figure out a meal that needs six burners on the stove top at the same time. I’m definitely learning as I go. But I think we are slowly getting there. The various workmen (cabinet maker, electricians, plumbers, etc.) have all been super helpful.

Countertops are stressful - so glad yours worked out! hang in there.. you’re almost to the finish line ✨
