New tile in one of the tan colors from the granite would look good. LVP could look cheap if installed with the lovely cabinets and granite countertops. Bring home some samples from your local tile store.

The cabinet style is very dramatic, a black floor will draw attention to the floor and not the interesting moulding profile of the cabinets.

Dark floors also show dust, especially when you have a lot of windows.

I'd get a roll of black kraft paper and see the black in your space in all light.

I do think a dark or deep, rich backsplash over your stove would be interesting.

I personally, would get rid of the gray wall color... a light/bright creamy color would be a lift.

Trim, cabinets and wall color all the same light to contrast with your black accents.

A black tile floor looks stunning when absolutely clean. In normal life, a black floor shows water spots, crumbs, dust and hair within a few hours of being washed. You can pick up a black tile sample and leave it out on the counter for a few days to see what happens. There was a recent post on Design Dilemma from a homeowner who was very tired of the black floor in the kitchen because it required a lot of cleaning.

A speckled gray floor might look good. See if there are some samples.

Any chance of running hardwood through the kitchen and matching it to the rest of the home? What is your reasoning for not wanting to do that?

Thank you for convincing me not to get black flooring! I hate to see dust and crumbs anywhere, so black would not work for me.

As far as hardwood, I recently had to match original hardwood in another home and it was difficult. The fact that it wasn't going to be a 100% match didn't appeal to me. Also, hardwood can be pricey, I guess it would depend on the cost of hardwood to a porcelain tile.

Those are beautiful! They lean more gray, I wonder if they would go with our existing granite countertops. Something I will look into for sure, thank you!

You also need to remember those tiles most likely going under all the cabinets and whatever you add will be above the tile and potentially dam in all your appliances and if a thick floor, look odd as well as in essence lower your counter height.

A slate tile would be lovely. You can get a soft black that reads less cool and it's also a more natural sheen. Then, I would paint the cabinets slightly darker shade than they are now. I think that could give you some good new longevity.

I would paint the islands another color. I would love to see hardwood in that traditional kitchen but given your comments there are other ways to play up your aesthetic...

get to a flooring store. there's always great products these days.

It looks like your granite has some gray in it. I think the tiles suggested by @la_la Girl could work in your kitchen but you need to bring a sample in your room.

If the tile is cracking I sure would want to know why before installing even bigger tile more prone to cracking. MY first choice would be the wood to match the rest of the flooring Even that needs to make sure something is not wrong undernesth .I see that the tile you have was also done 50% offset instead of 33% if you insist on tle first check the sub floor for issue then do not use the guy that installed what you have . While you are at changing things thta tile backspalsgh aroound the rnange could use upgrade too. If you were my client I would be asking about how much you LOVE this kitchen before advising painting those cabinets , paint is expensive done right and domne wrong is the way to have them look worse than they do now. I assume you love the very ornate style of cabinets but eally what you have are even in thta style dated .I cannot imagine gray floor in that space with the warm cabinets for sure

The Pietra Di Ostuni tile that just lalagirl showed does come in a warmer tone and I think it’s beautiful. However best advice is to find out what the cracking problem is as you may end up with new cracked tile in a year.

Also, having your wood floors matched but installed in a herringbone pattern would be really nice. The pattern change from straight lay to herringbone would help the eye forgive a not 100% perfect match. But a match would be the goal.
