The picture is deceiving because it doesn't look like 24" from wall to door. It seems like it might be too deep, but I would tape it out on the floor. You want to be able to have people easily enter and if you center it on the wall, that's only 10" away from the door wall.

The box would be a good idea, especially at the door end.

You can find consoles that are 9" - 10" deep. Maybe go with 60" long and place off-center so it isn't right where people walk in.

What would be the purpose of the table? Do you need practical furniture in this space, such as a coat tree, a space for boots and umbrellas, etc? I like to have enough room in the foyer to greet my guests with a handshake or hug, so think about that aspect of your space.

We have a hall closet in tge opposite wall so would be decorative with a mirror
