I like this, but not sure what this stone is? Is the marble on the floor necessary or can it be replaced with the hardwood flooring?

It’s probably limestone.

For safety, you’ll need it on the floor as well. I imagine it would be hard to match up the wood anyway. Unless you’re replacing all of it…?

Given your reference to wanting a Modern Farmhouse feel, marble (along with the dental molding) will feel traditional.

Large tiles might be less expensive than a solid application while still creating the same look and I like the shade you chose. Be sure to paint the brass black with the proper paint, and it will update the fireplace even more.

First impression is that your fireplace might actually benefit from tile by giving it a slightly less formal look.

Replace the mantle with something you love that coordinates with the style of your home.

It also might look better if it spanned the whole wall instead of having 4 inches of wall on each side.

I like the green surround. It has a more definite farmhouse feel.

I love this mantle. Do they sell this or does it have to be built?
