You need a large shrub planted at the correct distance from the house. But really, for foundation plantings, we really need to see the entire house, front on shot, showing some of what's on either side. Good landscaping means placing a house well in its entire setting, not just advising for a piece of the house when we can't see the entire structure.

I would put some money into adding terraces to the slope so it gives you level planting areas.

From what little we can see, it seems you have a lovely home.

A picture of the entire front would be enormously helpful. You are currently zooming in on this tiny spot under the window, but this is not the best way to plan an attractive landscape. The whole must work together, and you may not need anything right there. Empty space is sometimes necessary.

What’s the little weeping tree down at the corner? It may grow large enough to draw all attention to itself and become your star, but it looks extremely close to the house. Is it already touching the house?

Lorraine Leroux has a good idea. By terracing the slope you can change up the type of plantings.Do consider the water runoff requirements.Best of luck with your plan.
