This is 'Orange Smith'

This is "Orange Smith", collected on the grave of a gold miner/Civil War veteran named Orange Smith.
"Orange Smith" appears to be a slight sport of 'Archduke Charles'. It has s few fewer petals, and opens far better for me.

So beautiful. I've never loved Archduke Charles but I would gladly grow Orange Smith.

Off topic, (forgive me) my plant, if we can even call it that, of Grandmother's Hat is still a single stalk measuring about two and a half feet tall and about a quarter inch in diameter. I think I've had it almost a month now and basically nothing has happened. In your experience, Jeri, is there hope for this poor thing? No new growth along the stalk, about ten leaves and one bud that looks healthy. Thank you!
