Dining Room Building a Home Design Dilemma

Hi! We are considering moving our stairs to the finished basement into a new addition, so they would be located in a dining space. I’m looking for inspiration on how this would look- stairs against the wall, nice railings, lots of windows etc. this seems common in split levels. Do you have any inspiration images like this?

What are the dimensions of the dining room that the open stairway will be in?

I don’t find the stair railing between the posts in your photo as visually appealing as a solid low stair wall with a sideboard or console in front of it. Or a stair wall with a built-in bookcase or sideboard.

I like that idea of a bookshelf… and perfect for cookbooks! About 14 feet I think. Table would have to be parallel to the stairs.

If the bookcase was a bit shorter in height than the stair wall (so nothing gets pushed over the top and into the stairwell), you could put a stone top on top so it can do double duty as a buffet/sideboard when dining.
