Mold on Ruvati bottom rinse grid..any other options?

Hey there. We have the Ruvati Veniso 36” workstation slope bottom sink w the offset drain. Love the sink overall. However…….

the included SS bottom rinse grid gets mold in the crevices of the plastic feet that cover the contact portions of the grid…and also really on all the edges of the grid. kinda gross. and super hard to clean.

Has anyone encountered this issue? And if so, have you found an aftermarket option we could replace this with? Thanks!

My sink grids fit in the DW. I've had them for 10 years without mold.

That’s the nature of grids. Hate them. It’s a damp spot with bits of food- of course there will be mold.

I love my Kraus sink grids. I actually have 2 sink grids. One in my cleanup sink and one in my prep sink. I have not had this problem on my sink grids. I rinse them down and wipe a soapy sponge over them after dinner every night and it has been fine. Neither has gotten mold.

No mold on mine either ... but they get scrubbed every week by my cleaning lady! The grids that came with my Julien sinks have all rounded/closed metal, so no edges for stuff to get caught in.

I’ve experienced the same issue with my Ruvati sink’s grid. To tackle the mold, I started cleaning the grid regularly with a vinegar solution and a toothbrush to reach the tight spots. For a replacement, consider looking at silicone mats, which can be easier to clean and are mold-resistant. Also, you can try grids from brands like Kraus or Elkay, which might fit your sink better and offer different materials or designs that resist mold buildup.
