We're having a soggy week. It's supposed to storm every night. I have a little dog that thinks the sky is falling when she hears thunder. In her defense, she was caught out in the middle of a really loud storm with lightening and lots of rain. She hasn't been the same since. She trembles and wants to walk on me.

Hostas (the survivors) are mostly doing well. August Moon is greatly reduced. Paula, you have to get a Squash Casserole (it's a Tony Avent hosta). It's one of my best. My So Sweet (that finally became too root bound and balked) is doing well. It's "rumored" to be the same as Sun Hosta.

It's time to get photos, as May is my hosta's best show.

I pulled all trays into hoop house today. Will start cleaning house tomorrow .

Yesterday I lost my companion of nearly 15 years. That sucks big time.

Spring is finally here and I am seeing pips.

I’d like to see bird pics, too! My neighbor saw a hummingbird today. My feeders are out so I hope they come my way. I’m not sure if any of my flowers interest them this time of year. Most of the flowering trees have gone over already.

Printers, don’t get me started. I usually just print recipes and am glad if it works. I hope you get yours up and running again.

Ann, that’s annoying when we have to buy new instead of fixing something, but I hope your new shop vac is an extra good workhorse. Your Empress is going to be showy this year!

Bkay, thunder is so frightening to a lot dogs. I had a German Shepherd who would hide in the bathtub. …..And yes to pictures!

Both my Forsythias flowered so pretty last year but never flowered and went straight to green leaves this year. I’m guessing weather related.

I planted the Nepeta ‘Cat’s Pajamas’ that I bought recently because they’re the same size as the ones I have in the ground already, so I think they’ll be fine. I’m waiting to plant other things.

No sign of the Crocosmia coming up in their pots yet.

Some hostas are beginning to unfurl while others aren’t awake yet.

Whenever I can get to it, I’m cleaning up, weeding, fertilizing, and mulching in small sections at a time.

A tulip with a will to live. A concrete walkway poured over it, no problem.

Such pretty color on the variegated brunnera this time of year.

Daffodils came back nicely on this hillside.

One patch of my larger tulips that the deer didn't get.

Pink double daffodils are more of a peach for me.

Lindalana, I am so sad for your loss. Your munchkin looked like a the source of much love and joy. 15 years of love and occasional mischief. I feel your pain.

Chemo day, but feeling playful.

Hanging out in backyard after lunch. First 2 photos are of the section of the garden nearest me, with azalea, aralia, liriope and hostas (June Fever, Golden Meadows, Regal Splendor, Jade Cascade, Dark Star, and Raspberry Sundae. Then, one of Sunkissed and lastly of emerging Jessica Alba.

Little surprises! My hosta order from Green Hill Farm arrived today, and my youngest son helped me pot the plants. One Twice as Nice, and two What’s Mine is Yours. :)

So sorry to hear about the loss of that beautiful dog…….we lost two the past year but have two puppies now, one is a year old the the other almost five months. They have been fun but a bit much for two seniors at times……they filled the spots in my heart since the others left us.

On a different note I tried Spruce, a new weed and grass killer, safe for pets and kids. Will report back on how it worked here.

lindalana there are no words that help when we lose a faithful friend but I am heart broken for you.

I’m so very sad to hear of your loss just yesterday…… there are no words when one of our fur family has to leave us. He/she sure was darling! Will be thinking of you……

Thank you, I appreciate your warmth. Since moving into new house we slowly lost our cat and both dogs. It hurts and creates lots of empty space in our life. My heart is full of love and fond memories of my companions.

Now it is new dog, Chief, time to shine. Although I frequently question my sanity for thinking I am a match in dog training capabilities to his case. Chief is a lighting bolt of uncontrolled energy and emotions.

I read somewhere that gardeners live longer because they always looking to next year growth, harvest, and plant trees which they may never see fully grown. Cheers to that! I did lab work and my biological age is less than my actual age by 6.2 years. Must be all gardening 😆
