Context is key.

Please post a picture. There is more than one way to do this. How is the vanity configured? If the vanity isn't in an alcove I would have sconces. I hate overhead lighting in a bathroom. You could have 20" wide mirrors instead to make room for sconces in an alcove.

Some people only have one overhead light. Or light bars are popular. If the mirror is 24" the fixture shouldn't be any wider than 24". If it's much narrower it won't light the mirror well.

This is the vanity I currently have. Replacing it with a vanity the same size 72 inches. If I went with 20 inch mirrors I still don’t think I would have room for sconces because I have a wall on one side and a window on the other. I appreciate you posting pictures I feel that an overhead light Would work since I have two big windows in that bathroom and the contractor is also going to install some cans as well

No to two mirrors in that space. Well, no to two mirrors in almost every space. Thoughts:

- This is a fairly compact area + you have a window on that wall. Two small mirrors will come out looking "cluttered". The single mirror you have now is 100% better, though it needs a frame to look more "polished".

- To the point of your question, you need a smaller light -- what you have now is a little overwhelming. I'd go with two pendants flanking a single sink in the middle.

- This isn't a large space. I'd downsize to a single sink -- one sink DONE RIGHT is better than duplicates. This'll allow you counter space (I see you have clutter on the current counter top because you don't have space), and it'll mean the user is standing in the center of the vanity, which is more comfortable.

- Make sure your new vanity has DRAWERS, not the doors you have now.
