The whole space is gray and brown ... so I would add something with a bit of color.

I like something like this..it adds a bit of interest to the room.

Beverly shows a nice example...you need to ensure that size is appropriate so people can situate themselves to have an easy entry and arm reach to place cups,etc.About 18" or so seems right.You already have a pleasing comfortable looking room.

Be sure you keep the size the same as what you have now..you really need nothing less than 15” from side of ottoman all around and to front of sectional to be comfortable.

I would suggest round instead of square. The room has too many hard edges going on.

Love your rug…and the dogs! I see a corner of the coffee table has been chewed off??
