Roses in my garden 2025

I thought id like to share whats been blooming for me here so far . the garden is blooming in random spurts , which is nice so i can enjoy roses longer. our temps have varied a lot lately and we had very little rain this winter . thrips have already begun their damage . im going to order some insects to help with that .

So beautiful. i especially love your Evelyn and Young Lycidas. Nice to see some pics of Silas Marner, too. Always curious about that one.

Such beautiful pictures. I am thinking I need to add Easy Spirit as soon as I can figure out a spot for it. I have Sweet Spirit and it is very healthy and fragrant, but not my favorite color.

Thank you caroline . ill post more pics of it for you .. its paler than i anticipated but pretty !

markay .. easy spirit really puts on a show and opens slowly too so you can really enjoy it. it has a sugar sweet rose scent and thrips never seem to bother it , unlike bolero who just is a mess of them . if i only needed one white rose this would be it !

I’ve officially added it to my wishlist. I considered it when ordering for this spring, but passed because I gave quite a few roses in a similar creamy white range including Bolero, Polar Express, Lion’s Fairy tale, La Perla, and Champagne Wishes, but I will try to make room for another.

Jen, you have the most incredible garden! I agree about Easy Spirit. such a fabulous rose! your Pearly Gates is swoon worthy! Cant wait to see your Desiree.

Lily, So many gorgeous roses! Please post your wider garden pictures also. I love what you have done with your garden and enjoy seeing them. Do you have an idea how many roses you now have?

You have an incredibly beautiful garden, Lilyfinch!

Gorgeous, Lilyfinch! I love Gizmo too.

Your roses are breathtaking, Jen. Bathsheba and Young Lycidas are my favorites but it's a tough choice. Gizmo is assuredly the icing on the cake!

Jen, what a beautiful garden you have created. I love all the statuary. My favourites are Evelyn, Vanessa Bell (such a lovely shaped shrub but pity about the mothball scent, and of course it would waft!), Guy de Maupassant and Young Lycidas (what a colour). How nice to have those iris from dianela. Did you meet up or was it by post? What an adorable little munchkin Gizmo is. He and Elon should have a play date.

Do I see boats in the background, or should I put on my glasses? Trish

@Lilyfinch z9a Murrieta Ca So beautiful!!! Easy Spirit is new to me, so very lovely. It seems like a creamy verison of PJPII. How is its growth habit?

Beautiful roses! Difficult to choose favorites! Lucidias has the most gorgeous cupped & colorful blooms! Love Evelyn’s blooms- great photos! And Bethsheba-you captured her enchanting peachy, creamy pink blooms! Pearly Gates has dreamy blooms! I still have a Mary Rose-she’s a wonderful bloomer-tons of blooms! And your bird bath is really picturesque-love it! Gizmo is such a sweetie & he cracks me up-dumping out your potted plant! Oooops! I remember seeing a video once of your garden-it is lovely!

Thank you so much everyone ! I really appreciate the lovely comments. Do you believe this is our 6th year here? I guess we’ve been in this house longer than my old one now .

And thanks for the comments on Gizmo! He’s a funny playful pup who snores so badly lol he’s so sweet .

Trish , no boats in my pics ! 😆 dianela mailed them to me .. we would be terrible influences if we lived close enough.. 😅

Mmm12 - I’ll definitely post more pics when things are better blooming ! I’m waiting on a lot to open still . I have a very stuffed garden , if there is space I’ll shove a rose in it . I even built these metal beds and put them on the driveway behind the gate that is meant for an rv ! I dug up the hellstrip and planted that ., made my husband get rid of the shed to plant there .. it’s such a small lot . ( 9,000ish with house and large pool ) want to say I have about 200 roses but could be 225 or so ..

the ones in the ground are absolutely the happiest!

Kristine I love Desiree so much I added two more 😅

Thank you Ingrid !! If you ever find yourself in my part of town please lmk . I’d love to show you in person !!

Hi Jj !!! Easy spirit makes a nice rounded shrub for me . It does have some occasional candelabra canes that get a little wonky but I allow it lol. My only trouble is Dr Huey is always trying to make an appearance on him and my love song rose too. I have some red blooms on a shoot in there . No matter what I do it comes back .

Thank you Kitty !!! I’m so glad you are enjoying the roses . Spring is the best time of year !

You've perfected your art there in California, Lily. Bravo! How I wish that I made room for Easy Spirit, yours is extraordinary, but in the future I hope to. Your home and garden look so beautiful and peaceful! Are your neighbors in appreciation of your magnificent roses? They better be!

So beautiful! I cant believe its been 6 years since you moved from TN to your home in California. Love seeing your gorgeus flower garden. Pearly Gates is a favorite of mine as well.

Jen - glorious!!! Oh wow!! you have sooo many healthy, beautifully flowering roses!!! My faves are Vanessa Bell (hands down...rats about the fragrance), Evelyn, Easy Spirit (to not be bothered by thrips is a very good thing), Young Lycida, and Silver Lining!!!! Your full garden shots must be incredible!!! Gizmo is unbearably CUTE!!! What a darling Frenchie!!! Are your girls happy with having a dog? Six years?!! No way. Are your girls about 10-12 years old? I laughed over your description about planting roses everywhere...even on the RV pad. lol Oooh!!! I'm getting a Desiree from Heirloom...I'm so glad you love it!! Any pics?
