Need help with Living Room layout and paint choice

Hi everyone!! My husband and I are closing soon on our first home. I’m having a hard time figuring out layout for the living room/color to paint to make everything more cohesive and homey. Especially since we wouldn’t be changing the flooring or the trim and right now it’s just such a drastic difference. Also would love some ideas on layout for the living room. Thank you so much for your help!!
