remove or remodel cabinet

Not sure what to do with this pantry. Get rid of or remodel. Any ideas, thoughts? I’m not creative and like to play it safe

are there doors that you removed that go across the white shelf section? do you need an oven or microwave......all i see is a cooktop in your space.

It looks like you removed the trim around the top & I’m guessing you removed the curtains. Was this by chance the cabinet that used to hold a micro & an oven? Where’d they go? I see a cooktop in the island - or is that now converted to a slide in range? If yes, where’s the micro? If micro sitting on counter somewhere, I’d try to finish the inside of the top section & use it as a micro shelf to sit a countertop micro in there. That’s commonly done now instead of built in micros. For the bottom I’d try to find matching doors, add another shelf inside & use it for pantry space. Pull out shelfs would be great. A good match might take awhile but someone might be pulling out cabs that match style & wood wise. Someone good with a saw & wood could make nice doors in a matched style.

Can you give us more information? As mentioned you seem to only have a cooktop on the island. Where is the stove? A fan? A microwave? Why is the fridge not integrated with the cabinets? All cabinets are empty, looks like you're just moving in or considering to buy? Do you have a budget to make some improvements?

Remove it. Move the frig into the empty space. Add 11" deep pantry storage for 3, 4 or more feet. We can't see the rest of the room. Second option after removing it add an induction range in the location with a 36" drawer cabinet between the range and the frig. Install an exhaust hood over the range. Match the counter or use butcher lock counter from Floor and Decor or Ikea. Same for the island with the cooktop removed.

Install a microwave and oven as the cabinet was originally intended.

If you want to use it as a pantry, you could get doors made and probably reface (get new doors) for all cabinets so they would actually match. But on the other hand I don't think it makes sense to invest too much into the existing problematic layout, so perhaps saving for an eventual full reno would be best.

Depending on your budget and how long you plan on living in this house, I'd probably remove it and replace it with a range. Gets the cooktop off the small island which you can now use solely for prep and serving. Then add a small cabinet with a counter top between the fridge and the range.

Thank you all so much for the tips and recommendation. We just moved in. I love the range on the island. I thought I would dislike it bu

Remove and place refrigerator there. If possible - budget and material-wise - add upper and lower cabinets to left of new placement of refrigerator to serve as new pantry with additional counter space. Caveat, is their flooring under the pantry?

I understand why there's a prominently placed fire extinguisher by the in-island gas range. That honestly has to be the worst placement of a gas appliance I've seen on this forum and I'm not being flippant. It's so unsafe in a walkway area, zero surrounding landing space/buffer zone on that island and no ventilation system in place with gas. Boggles the mind! The pantry is the least of that kitchen's problem.

And a scale layout of the floor to show traffic and clearances. You can use graph paper.

Someone threw the doors away. Look around. If it's not stored anywhere have new ones made. Any cabinet shop could replicate them.
