Laminate with a waterproof core is a new product to compete with lvp. Test it with the tynes of a fork to see how much pressure it takes to scratch it. See if you can easily break the tomgue portion of the locking portion. Easy to break means poor quality.

Why laminate?

for cost savings, as well that hardwood will get easily scratched, dirt in gaps, and dont want to have to baby wood floors with a house full of kids.

hardwood floors do not need to be babied.

In the long run, are more durable and WHEN, if ever they need to be refinished, in my experience,

it would be less expensive than replacing laminate.
