Nice table settings and fresh flowers are all you need.

Thank you!

Maybe store the treadmill?

Put napkins on the end tables and coffee table.

It looks like a garbage pail outside the kitchen door. Perhaps put it elsewhere?

For the day, I would store the treadmill and move the garbage can into the kitchen. You could use a S hook to bring the dining room light up to the ceiling so you can move the table over to where the treadmill is now. You'd then have two big tables to have a buffet - one on the window wall and one where the treadmill was. Then you can spread the dining room chairs around. Take the ladder back chair and put it with it's match where the garbage can is now. For the future you might want to tackle the kitchen. I noticed there are a lot of pantry items on the folding table by the window. Is there anyway of improving the storage/counter space in the kitchen to keep things from overflowing? I would then work on getting matching chairs for the dining room.

It helps to have an approximate count of attendees. Clear the surfaces in the living area and, if needed, add extra chairs/small tables. If there is an outside deck or patio, set that up too.

Thanks so much! Yes, here is a bit of the patio. Thinking of getting a tent or table with canopy and mosquito net or both.

The patio is great if it’s a nice day. Tables with sun protection is good.

Depending on the prep time you and the family member have, power washing the patio and removing the pile of wood in the front left of your photo will improve the aesthetic and increase the available space.

Thank you!
