It might create a bookend effect, but it would more likely create a "she bought these cabinets on clearance" effect.

The only way your idea would work would be to commit to the full "tuxedo" look. And that seems to be going out of style.

If you want to break up your white cabinetry with some wood, maybe the island is the place to do that (if you have room for one).

Here is a kitchen that I supplied for a woman about 15 years ago. She designed herself for her brand new vintage reproduction home. she did kinda what you are saying. On an Lshape? Might look awkward unless it's a slab door/uber modern design.

I think you could absolutely do that DEPENDING on the layout. If you are working with a kitchen designer, they should be able to show you different configurations of color in the space. I know a lot of designers don't care for 2 or 3 color kitchens, but in the right space, they are awesome! Perfect example shown above.
