Backsplash tile abutting door trim

last year
last modified: last year

We are at the end of an extremely lengthy primary bath remodel due to our contractor mismanaging his time and many mistakes that had to be corrected

that aside, we had issues with the guy that tiled the shower (mistakes lining up long subway tiles) so we chose a different option for behind the double vanity. tile came on a mat, so we ”assumed” it would be easier to cut

the overall wall looks really good and im sure i am being nitpicky here. but i just checked out the tile abutting the door trim and its reallllly irritating me that this is cut so unevenly and theres a large gap

am i wrong? The tile guy is telling me ”its all in my head” the contractor is saying ”ill use tape and tape it all off to make a nice even grout line i do that after the painters paint” this doesnt make sense to me how will the grout line look straight?
