Hi. I would buy something like below that you can sort of play with and stack to your advantage. Buy bins to fit inside each cube to keep laundry sorted. You should move the washer/dryer to the right side as far as possible to cover up hoses.

Place a table on the left side. The cubes below could fit under the table, as well as some being stacked on top (towards the back) of the table. This will give you plenty of storage.

Hmm... would turning them 1/4 and moving them to the right side be an option? From what I can see that would only leave the cable on the left side that perhaps will provide a problem? Or maybe not?
So, if you could turn them 1/4 and move them to the right, that would leave enough space on the short wall on the left side for a small countertop and shelves with baskets for example.

Carolins....that is a thought. I wonder if the plug will reach. Also, which side do the doors open?

Other questions:

In what room is the laundry closet? Would you consider removing the door altogether? Maybe replacing it with a swing door?

I imagine all the pipes and power cords attach from opposite sides of the closet which is why its in the middle right? Isn't that always the way? makes it tricky to fit it in.

Get an electrician in to move the outlets over so you'll have more room for what you wish to accomplish.

Looks like washer/dryer open to the left, so I would move them all the way to the left in the closet, then add some kind of shelving unit on the right. This might require moving some utilities, but I think it would be worth it for the added functionality.

Thank you all for your help. The closet is in the main floor guest bath, and yes the outlets, vent, and hoses are definitely placed awkwardly. I was trying to see if there was an easy solution but I think something's gotta give.

Nancy, since it is inside the guest bath, I think you could consider removing the bifold door and trim. This would allow you more options.

You could install a pull-out shelf between the washer and dryer to use for folding.
