We need to talk about Pinkerbelle

I planted Pinkerbelle in my garden at the beginning of last Spring with no expectations of her, and was honestly not that excited about her from the get go, but really liked her coloring. THIS ROSE, Y’ALL. SHE IS INCREDIBLE IN EVERY WAY! Criminally underrated!

Even in her first year she pumped out bloom after bloom all season long, and I have her planted in a mostly shady spot. Mine is also surrounded by companion plants that give her no breathing room, but ZERO blackspot—pristine condition leaves even into autumn.

Stunning colored pink, speckled blooms that have this unique gray to them that I have never seen in any other rose. The blooms last forever too! And they smell strong and wonderful!

This is Pinkerbelle’s second season in my garden. My roses are all ending their first flushes and resting for the most part, but she has already pumped out her second round of buds. She refuses to rest!

I would love to hear others’ experiences with this surprising rose!

Mine works like it's a rented mule. No black spot.....YIPPEE!!! Lol!!! Pinkerbelle is truly an excellent grower own root, no need to grow it grafted. It doesn't need the added vigor grafting gives. If roses don't grow for you, Pinkerbelle will.

Wow This was unknown to me. I am in need of it now. It is fantastic to find gem like this one, healthy workhorses in the garden.

You may find that the flower itself, although freshly open, looks dingy from a distance. Pinkerbelle looks much better close up, where the color nuances differentiate agreeably, rather than from a distace, where they blend visually. This only bothers me slightly. All Pinkerbell's positives outweigh its negatives by a mile. It's got a really nice, exhibition hybrid tea bloom form, too.

It looks terrific in your home, all the shades of color intermingle perfectly. In hotter climates like mine, it seems a bit more blotchy. I agree it has outstanding vigor, health and flower production.

Just found some locally and took them home. Thanks for bringing up that it is very healthy. Blotchy colors are not my favorite, but with good health I am willing to give it a good try.

Everything gets blotchy when it gets old! My mirrors are on high alert when I walk by for fear that I will stop and look at them, risking either fracturing or worse yet breaking from reflecting my old blotchy, wrinkly mug.

Look at the Pinkerbelle of the three, the one at your sleve, in the photo you provided. It is younger and at its prime, breathtakingly beautiful to me. Just dead head when a Pinkerbelle bloom gets hard to look at. Plenty more will come. You will like the strong necks that hold the blooms upright. The petals are average for weather integrity, so that's a pass with me. I don't like the name, but I bet Pinkerbelle is even less fond of it than I am, so it tries to show its got guts, and plenty of it....to make up for its sissy name.

Moses - I've often wondered if I should get a Pinkerbelle...but, the rating on hmf is not great for fragrance...what do you think of the fragrance? It's a beautiful rose, and yours is an incredible bloomer!

Moses it was so much fun reading your post. You have such a wonderful sense of humor that it is always refreshing. I am glad to hear your Pinkerbelle performs great and the blooms are a product of aging and not just temperature. I can really appreciate any rose that can keep nice green foliage.
