Large artwork about 2/3 the width of the sofa. Or a very large fabric wall hanging. Try the size of a double bed quilt, using paper to mock it up.

I think your room requires some adjustment to the position of your seating. Center the sofa on the wall and then place the two chairs on either side. I'd replace that floor lamp with an end table and table lamp & I'd select a coffee table instead of all those random tables placed all over the room.

Paint the staircase wall a dark color.
