I think it's just not finished. Like a new kitchen remodel looks not right till you get your stuff in there and it's really done. I think the house is fine, it's just standing in its undies waiting to get some clothes on.

All your gutter system stuff will be adding visually to what is there. What color did you choose for that? What is your hardscaping plan- walkways, driveway. If you want any built in beds, large boulders or other heavy things. Depending on what materials you use for those, that will have an impact. It's the more unchangeable part of the outfit.

From there, it's kind of accessorizing in what you want the house to wear. For sure get some erosion control down now, be it grass or something else. Do you want a shade tree or other trees? Lots of color and flowers, outdoor lawn for playing on, bushes that stay evergreen or other?

Yes, lots of plants, greenery, trees and flowers in its future to “accessorize”. We will have a sidewalk from porch to a parking pad off the driveway. So more to come. Thanks for your comment.

Yup. You’re probably right.

Perhaps you were expecting the two colors (brick vs cedar shakes) to look different than each other but they actually look exactly the same in these pics. Not enough of the statement you wanted? You could always change the cedar shake color to something darker. I don't think the white bump outs look bad.

I agree that the garage and bump outs are too bright white and could be toned down. If looking at other white options, consider looking at SW Aesthetic White or Shoji White as these have a very subtle grey undertone that coordinate with Accessible Beige being a griege color. Beautiful home! Hope you'll post updates!

Tips:

Get out of the car to take pictures. We are seeing your house through a tinted windshield with reflections.

Try for a less cloudy day. Sunshine changes how a house looks.

Color is often used to highlight, to call attention to something.

With your house, the bump out and the tower, being white, and being on opposite ends of the house, cause the eye to wonder back and forth.

Painting the panels the body color gives the bump out some interest, but helps it recede a bit.

The far right side reads as an oops -- like it was forgotten during the design phase.

I've tried to show a wall as part of the landscaping built out in front of the house to visually elevate that part of the house, and to help hide the mechanicals.

If I were designing/building this bump out, I would have widened the trim on the outside so the panels above and below the windows were all the same size.
