I'd add a door, especially to keep in the steam/warmth.

Have you included good ventilation? waterproofing everything including the ceiling?

Thanks Lyn. I’ll have to ask our GC! Good point on ceiling. As you can see, still in process. I’ve also seen new trend of doing tadalekt instead of tile - grout less .. like a micro cement look- considering that!

Yes to the door if you like steamy, hot, and contained water.

No door to me screams Brrr! I like to be enclosed and dry off in the warm shower afterward.

YES to the door. I like a steamy shower and the after cool down time and that can only be achieved with a door. Make sure the area is ventilated properly.

I see no waterproofing yet and IMO I would also tile the ceiling above the shower if hot steamy showers are the norm and yes to a door fo sure I would have done that pony wall much lower to make that shower feel bigger too.

The Goboard on the walls is the waterproofing. I’ll have to ask my GC about ceiling too.

Just providing latest updated picture. This project has been insanely long for a lot of reasons. But wondered about adding glass on top of pony wall and to ceiling but not door. Door width is 25.5 inches. Hmm. Guessing I’ll still stick with adding a door! Anyway.. closing loop!
