Keep the front door?

We are doing a large scale remodel of our newly purchased home. The look will be modern/transitional with warm neutral tones, a lot of warm white and light oak finishes. This is the existing front door to the house. While old, we like that it's a nice solid door and feel bad to get rid of it. Any ideas on how we can refurbish it? Stain it and change the Or should we just let it go?

To note: the entry is being relocated so all the walls, frame are going to be new. Just wondering if we should reuse the door. There is also an exterior safety door that we are not allowed to change (to maintain external facade of the house, pic attached)

That is a beautiful door I would want to salvage. I imagine it being sanded well and then stain it a color complementary to your exterior, perhaps black. On the inside you could easily add picture moulding to it if you want to embellish it before applying stain. Change all the hardware (hinges, door handle/lock in keeping with your other finishes.

Love the door and suggest staining it lighter, as it’s the first impression of what’s to come…you mentioned white and light oak. Also create a connection to the gate by using black hardware. There may be some touch ups needed to the wood, but a new handle will make it stunning. Door below is different, but the effect would be similar.

I need to see the house . This is avery specific style of door is the pic with the black somehow showing the door? It IMO is quite lovely but honestly needs to work with the house and your decor I think. So more info please and for sure a pic of the house

I would keep it, either clean it down to natural or paint over it.

But, I like to keep salvage, it could be a great story. it's a personal thing.
