undertones in the paint color play a big roll, especially with lighting and accents.

What wall are you putting the screen? I would paint the wall with the screen on a dark hue, black, navy, deep green, burgundy... so that you are not distracted and the screen is the focal.

You will need some white to help bounce light around the room. What kind of seating will you have? a sofa? sectional? chairs? a bit more info would help.

Looks like white cabinetry, is that the future bar area?

sorry, I'm not understanding the layout. How about a floor plan/measurements.

We are hoping to add a sectional on the wall to the right of this room divider then we will put the TV on the wall to the right of the window in the original picture I shared.

Our cabinets are currently white but we want to paint them to match the room. Thinking dark if the wall colour is on the lighter side or lighter if we go for a darker moody wall colour.

Please post some inspo photos so we can suggest the direction to take it in, and tell us a little bit about your style.

I think blue would be a better choice and nice and cheery for a room with low natural light.

A white with gray undertone for the cabs might work with the floors. Their current color seems yellowish.

I would keep the kitchen area very light and make the other area dark, color drenched in a deep color of your liking.

But especially the TV wall so it looks like a theater screen....
