Breakfast Room off Kitchen

last year

I cant figure out how to set up the area off the kitchen. We are not making it an eating area but more of a tv/bar area. maybe just put a small table in the bay window area We have a bar with stools we were thinking of putting where the corner cabinet is now. also ignore the sofa maybe replacing with chairs. The room is 15 feet by 15 feet. the pocket door leads into our living room/ dining area. Any help is appreciated

looks like a great spot. Mount the TV on the solid wall to the right and leave the bay open for comfy chairs in the sun.

a large area rug to anchor the space. swivel chairs and a coffee table.

so many ways to go... thrift store cabinet, shelves, be creative.

especially nice with your outdoor space right there too.

Add a picture from the door wall looking back into the room. Is the entrance from the living room the only way in?

I have a couple of friends who have two comfy chairs in their kitchens, but they face them to the kitchen so they can talk to their visitors. I would suggest placing two chairs with a table between them facing the kitchen and the bar in the bay area. You could flip your couch around now to see if you like that arrangement.

    Can you do a floorplan?

I think I’d like a bistro table and two chairs in the bay. Sometimes you need a spot to sit civilized with your tablet or crossword and tea.

Without a detailed floor plan or dimensions it's difficult to make suggestions but perhaps a layout like below is something that could work.

I like the Bistro or Pub Table idea. A small pedestal table and some Mid Century Modern chairs or a game table with some rolling or swivel chairs could be useful for many activities. You could even add storage with a window seat bench that opened like a trunk and small drink table.

A floor plan with ALL dimensions will help you get advice. Context is key and more than you have offered to this point is needed.

My previous plan with minimal dimensions turns out to be almost identical to your latest plan showing more detailed dimensions.

I would want to see the TV easily from the kitchen so put it on the big wall.

I did not measure these pieces...just a concept sketch so adjust accordingly.

Four club chairs, the two in the middle of the room would swivel to see the TV and could be smaller if need be. Round ottoman or square game table.

The bar could be horizontal or vertical in the drawing:

Here I pulled the seating out into the room...so hard to tell if it would fit in the bay window.
